Top 5 Browser of 2011

1. Firefox

Features:

Pros: The speed of the browser, the simple interface and unique features such as tab groups make this a strong browser.

Cons: Firefox doesn’t offer thumbnail previews or native mouse gesture compatibility.

The Verdict: The easy-to-use, minimalist interface along with helpful tools like tab groups and the “pin as app” feature make Firefox the best browser available.

2. Google Chrome
 Features:
Pros: Chrome separates each tab into its own process, protecting your system and making it the most secure browser around.

Cons: If you leave a tab idle for a period of time, it takes a while for it to refresh.

The Verdict: Chrome is built for speed, and its secure, unobtrusive operation makes it a great browser.

3. Internet Explorer

Features:

Pros: Internet Explorer is the only browser to offer every technical support feature we looked for.

Cons: As the most common browser, most malicious attacks take advantage of Internet Explorer’s security holes.

The Verdict: While it competes well in speed and functionality, its security flaws make it less appealing.

4. Opera

Features:
Pros: Opera’s startup and browsing speeds are some of the best we’ve seen.

Cons: This browser has frequent conflicts with compatibility.

The Verdict: Opera’s speed is impressive, but its compatibility issues hold it back in our rankings.

5. Safari

Features:

Pros: Safari’s average startup time and navigation speed are impressive.

Cons: The lack of a private mode and anti-phishing capabilities hurt this browser.

The Verdict: The browser is functional, but some improvements in its security and feature set would help it out significantly.
